How pickup works
Pickup logistics for RVs and motorhomes require specialized handling. Our team at Great Plains Autos employs specialized RV-transport flatbeds and drive-aways to ensure a smooth pickup process. When donating, please inform us of your RV's length and height, as most states mandate a maximum clearance of 13'6”. If you’re storing your RV in a facility or RV park, we’ll coordinate with them to arrange pickup, ensuring minimal disruption to your schedule. Typically, we can pick up vehicles directly from your storage lot, streamlining the donation experience for you.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated RV or motorhome is influenced by several factors. Key elements such as the condition of house systems (roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning) often drive value more than the drivetrain. Water damage can significantly devalue your RV, making regular maintenance records vital to your donation's worth. Seasonality also plays a role; spring auctions tend to fetch higher prices for used RVs. For classic RVs, an appraisal is recommended, and IRS Form 8283 Section B is required to ensure everything is in order.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- Current registration documents
- Maintenance and service records
- Appraisal (for classic RVs)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road RVs
Nebraska specifics
In Nebraska, RVs and motorhomes must be titled through the DMV just like any other vehicle. Ensure that your donation includes the proper title to avoid any issues during the transfer process. Nebraska law allows for bill-of-sale transactions, but having a clear title makes the process smoother. Our team at Great Plains Autos is well-versed in Nebraska's DMV requirements, so we can guide you through any necessary paperwork.
